The Chinese Room and Secret Mode are celebrating as Still Wakes the Deep receives two nominations at the 2024 Golden Joysticks Awards!

The narrative horror game from storytelling experts at The Chinese Room has been shortlisted for Best Audio Design in recognition of its tense and authentic ambience, and Best Supporting Performer for Neve McIntosh, who plays Suze, the wife of the game’s protagonist.

Now in its 42nd year, the Golden Joystick Awards are voted for by those who buy and play games, and each year millions of fans support their favourite titles, developers, publishers and people of the last 12 months

The winners of the Golden Joystick Awards will be revealed at a ceremony held in London on 21st November 2024 and voting is open until Friday the 1st of November. The full list of nominees, event details, and instructions to vote can be found on the Games Radar website.

Still Wakes the Deep, which launched in June 2024, has already received nominations at prestigious awards including the TIGA Awards – where it’s shortlisted for Audio Design, Heritage in Games, Creativity in Games and Action/Adventure Game – and the Music and Sound Awards where it’s up for Best Vocal Performance in a Video Game for Alec Newman, the voice of protagonist Caz and Best Sound Design in a Video Game.

In Still Wakes the Deep, the player assumes the role of an offshore oil rig worker, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. All that remains is to face the unknowable horror that’s come aboard.

Still Wakes the Deep is available to play now on Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and PlayStation 5. It is also available with Game Pass for console and PC. More information can be found on the website.
