Sumo Digital is delighted to be nominated for Best Large Studio and Best Co-Development Partner at the 2024 TIGA Awards, in recognition of our efforts in delivering an exceptional game development experience to our partners.

Held annually, the TIGA Awards showcase excellence in games development, service providers and education and the nominations come as part of a bumper year for releases at Sumo. We’ve taken players from oil rigs to racetracks and beyond and we’re proud to see the hard work of our people recognised at this year’s awards.

In the game categories narrative driven-horror, Still Wakes the Deep from storytelling maestros The Chinese Room, leads the way with four nominations. Shortlisted for Best Audio Design, Creativity in Games, Best Action and Adventure Game, and the Heritage in Games Award, Still Wakes the Deep was released in June 2024 and has been terrifying players as it takes them aboard the Beira-D oil rig to fight for their lives while being stalked by an unknowable horror that has come aboard.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, developed by Sumo Nottingham and published by Gun Interactive, has three nominations in the Best Visual Design, Best Social Game and Best Use of a License. In this asymmetrical horror game – based on the film of the same name – you must play as either Family or Victim as you attempt to hunt or evade your opponent.

Also nominated this year is Auroch Digital and Focus Entertainment’s Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – which is a finalist in the Action and Adventure Game category, and the Sumo Digital Academy’s retro platformer Oil Strike ’75  is up for the Heritage in Games Award and Best Arcade Game.

Elsewhere, our parent company Sumo Group is shortlisted in the Education Initiative category for its Evolve programme – which launched earlier this year, and publishing wing Secret Mode has received a nomination for Best Publisher and Commitment to ESG.

The winners of the 2024 TIGA Awards will be revealed on Thursday 28th November at a ceremony held in London, and the full list of nominees can be found on the TIGA website.
