The Chinese Room’s narrative-horror title, Still Wakes the Deep, has been described as “a masterclass in game narrative” (The Gamer), with its environments, atmosphere and performances all praised for their authenticity and emotion.

For much of the game, the player finds themselves faced with the deadly, ice-cold water of the North Sea and, using Unreal Engine 5 tools like Niagara, Nanite and Lumen, the team were able to create realistic water to challenge and terrify.
