We’re delighted to announce that Sumo Digital collected the award for Best Studio at the Develop: Star Awards, and The Chinese Room was awarded Best Mobile Game for its platforming-adventure title, Little Orpheus.

Our parent company, Sumo Group, and its businesses received nominations in a range of categories for the Develop:Star awards and came away with three awards, including: Best Studio for Sumo Digital, Best Mobile Game for Little Orpheus and Best Creative Provider for creative and technical studio, Atomhawk. Held annually, the Develop: Star Awards recognise extraordinary studio talent and the best products of the year.

Also taking place this week was the Game Dev Heroes Awards, at which Sumo Group’s Head of Equity, Diversion and Inclusion, Leon Hijazi-Killin, took home the Progression Advocate award. Other nominees for Sumo included Sumo Sheffield’s Senior Game Designer Daryoush Neekoi for Design Hero, Sumo Sheffield’s Narrative Designer Rhianne Murphy for Writing Hero, Red Kite Games’ Programmer Daniel Breton for Programming Hero, Sumo Sheffield’s Producer Helen Woolley for Production Hero and Sumo Sheffield’s Design Director Paul Colls for Leadership Hero.

Huge congratulations to all of our teams nominated – we’re so proud of your continued hard work and passion.
