The Chinese Room celebrate a year of supporting The Clock Tower Sanctuary

Charity runs at the heart of Sumo Digital, that’s why over the past 12 months, the team at The Chinese Room chose to support The Clock Tower Sanctuary – a drop-in day centre in Brighton & Hove for 16-to-25 year olds who are homeless or insecurely housed.

From step challenges to bake sales, we’ve been so proud to support this fantastic charity this year and are delighted to have raised funds to support young people in our hometown, Brighton.

The Clock Tower Sanctuary is the only drop-in day centre for homeless young people in Brighton. It’s a place where young people who have nowhere to call home can feel safe and be listened to. The charity offers crisis support, builds trust and self-esteem and works with partners across the city to help its clients. Last year, it had over 4000 visits from young people who had nowhere to call home.

Most recently, The Chinese Room ran a raffle and donated prizes, which raised over £1300 for the charity.

Earlier this year, the team at TCR paced around their homes and towns to walk 10 million steps in one month to raise money for The Clock Tower Sanctuary. They smashed their target fundraising goal of £2000 and were delighted to raise over £3000 for the charity.

On fundraising for The Clock Tower Sanctuary, The Chinese Room’s Studio Director, Ed Daly, said: “It’s been a brilliant year fundraising for The Clock Tower Sanctuary and has really brought us together as a team. They do such fantastic work in the city we’re very proud to call home and I’m incredibly happy that we’re set to support them again in 2022.”

Frances Duncan, CEO at The Clock Tower Sanctuary, said: “As a small charity, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to keep our vital services running. We were delighted to see the team at The Chinese Room complete some fantastic fundraising throughout 2021 and make such a generous contribution to our work with young people who are experiencing homelessness in Brighton & Hove. A huge thank you to Zoe and your colleagues for all of your support this year!”

The Chinese Room has loved the opportunity to fundraise for a charity so close so its heart and wants to thank its team for all their hard work.
