Styling Stampede: Racing Royale

Video game artists cover a wide range of different roles, and Art teams will be responsible for delivering the visuals for a game from concept art, to lighting and VFX. Throughout its development, Sumo Leamington’s debut title Stampede: Racing Royale has been evolving, and the Art team has been there to see it from its original pencil sketches, through to the huge, multiplayer karting explosion of colour it is today!

Get a sneak peek into how Art teams can collaborate to bring a colourful vision to life as Sumo Leamington Concept Artist Lucia Pigoli, Senior Artist Kyung Bo Lee, and Technical Artist Nina Klos give us the rundown of the journey of art, the responsibilities of the art team, and why lighting is particularly important in racing games.

Stampede: Racing Royale pits 60 players against one another across three-round eliminator events, culminating in a high-stakes finale to crown the winner. Rounds include Stampede Races, which offer classic karting action on outrageously inventive circuits against up to 59 other opponents, and Stampede Battles, where competitors are locked in power-up-laden arenas to fight their way to victory. Stampede: Racing Royale is available to Wishlist on Steam now.
