Ahoy! Auroch Digital has recently unveiled a new case study to showcase their treasures cosmetic development work for open-world pirate adventure game, Sea of Thieves.

Working alongside Rare, the Bristol-based team of pirate fanatics at Auroch Digital delivered over 100 different pieces of cosmetic content – including ship sets, clothing, emotes, pets and more – from Concept through to implementation.

Auroch began each ‘Season’ with a brief and would begin work on exploring the assigned theme through a ‘Concept Jam’ – a day-long session where Auroch and Rare teams would sketch and paint-up a variety of ideas before taking them through to Content Production. With extensive experience in Work-For-Hire and Co-Development, Auroch Digital were able to adopt Rare’s working practices into their art production pipeline to deliver manageable and efficient support.

Collaboration is one of Sumo’s core values and this project is another excellent example of expert crew members from studios including Atomhawk Newcastle, Sumo Nottingham, Sumo India and Sumo Newcastle joining the voyage.
