Sackboy: A Big Adventure Awarded Two BAFTA’s at the 2021 BAFTA Game Awards

10th Jun 2021 Awards

We’re incredibly honoured to share that
Sackboy: A Big Adventure has been awarded two BAFTA’s at the 2021 BAFTA Game
Awards!

The game picked up the awards for Family Game and
British Game, along with nominations in the Multiplayer and Music categories.

Since the release of Sackboy: A Big Adventure in
November 2020, the support and love we’ve received from players across the
world has been overwhelming. We are proud to see the hard work of the Sumo
Digital development teams in Sheffield and Pune being recognised and are
grateful for our partnership with the team at Sony XDev, who have supported us
every step of the way.

“It’s been a privilege to work alongside such a talented
and dedicated group of people,”
said Ned Waterhouse, Design Director at Sumo
Sheffield. “Shipping a game is never easy. Shipping a game in 2020 was its own
unique challenge and our team rose to that challenge.

“To everyone who went out, bought a copy of the game
and joined Sackboy on his latest adventure; thank you. We really appreciate the
support.”

Winning a BAFTA is a dream come true and winning TWO
is something we could hardly dare to imagine! You can watch Design Director Ned
Waterhouse’s award acceptance speech here

Thank you to everyone that helped to bring Sackboy: A Big Adventure to life, and to our players for joining us on this journey!
