Advancing PC-Class Gaming On Mobile With Neural Technology

Ai Innovation Mobile Game Development Partnership Sumo Digital Video Game Industry

Sumo Digital is excited to collaborate with Arm, the industry’s highest-performing and most power-efficient compute platform, to technically evaluate how neural technology can be applied to mobile games. This work helps accelerate the move from research to production, giving developers an early opportunity to experiment with AI-driven graphics techniques on mobile.

Announced in August 2025 and set to ship in Arm GPUs this year, Arm neural technology is an industry first, adding dedicated AI-powered neural accelerators to Arm GPUs, enabling PC-quality graphics on mobile for the first time. As an early adopter, Sumo Digital is testing these capabilities to see what’s possible in a production quality game environment.

“We’re excited to be working with Arm on a technical implementation of this boundary-pushing new technology,” said Gary Dunn, CEO of Sumo Digital. “Arm neural technology will represent a paradigm shift for what’s possible with video games on mobile.

“We’re working with Arm on a project that demonstrates the capabilities of the technology and look forward to sharing some demos at GDC this week.”

Sumo will be joining Arm as part of its developer summit on Tuesday 10 March at GDC 2026 in San Francisco.

Sumo Digital Art Director Lukas Medek will join Arm’s Patrick Mendenall, Senior Principal, Gaming Partnerships at Arm for the summit’s opening talk: “Co-creating possibility: The future of mobile gaming” at 10:10am PDT. Sumo Digital will be presenting their experience as a developer engaging with the technology for the first time, and what they believe will be possible to achieve on mobile devices

The summit takes place in Room WH2011 at the Moscone Convention Center.

“Bringing desktop-quality graphics to mobile has been one of the industry’s toughest challenges,” said Chris Bergey, EVP, Edge AI Business Unit, Arm. “Arm neural technology will unlock game-changing, immersive experiences for players. With Sumo Digital, we’re doing important work to ease the on-ramp for developers so they can push visual quality even further on mobile.”
