Fallout 76 is part of the legendary Fallout series and serves as a prequel to previous entries. Set in the year 2102, players emerge from Vault 76 into a vast, post-apocalyptic Appalachia to rebuild civilization and uncover the mystery behind a deadly plague.

The Ask

Sumo Digital was tasked with improving accessibility for Fallout 76’s multiplayer experience. This required aligning with Microsoft’s accessibility standards, enhancing UI and UX for better player comfort and communication, and adapting to Bethesda’s proprietary engine and tools while collaborating closely with internal teams.
