Sumo teams work across a range of studios and locations. Each studio has its own strengths, and we collaborate closely across the group when it helps the project.

Nottingham
Established in 2016, Nottingham supports AAA console and PC development, focused on full-game development and co-development. Built by experienced developers, the studio has contributed to high-quality AAA experiences. Nottingham has worked on licensed IP including Hogwarts Legacy and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Sheffield
Sheffield is Sumo Digital’s original studio, supporting AAA console and PC development. The team delivers full game development, co-development, porting, remakes and remasters, backed by a strong track record across major platforms and engines, including proprietary technologies. With experience across a wide range of genres and IPs (including Gears of War and Warframe), Sheffield supports projects with varying technical needs and scopes.

Leamington
Leamington is home to a team of industry veterans with experience across PC, console and mobile. The studio’s focus is creating experiences players return to. Equipped for full game development, co-development and collaborative work-for-hire, Leamington also explores emerging technologies, including player-facing AI, and supports adjacent markets such as apps (for example, Zwift and WOLF).

Lab42
Founded in 2015, Lab42 was built on the principle of creating a sustainable studio that achieves excellence through strong team support. The studio supports content development and porting across major franchises, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Call of Duty, Star Wars and Alien. Lab42 also partners with indie developers and publishers, supporting content and maintenance for titles such as Human: Fall Flat, and works on original indie-scale projects.

Atomhawk
Founded in 2009, Atomhawk is a digital art and design studio supporting concept art, production art, UI/UX, animation and marketing art for games, film and interactive media. With hubs in Gateshead and Leamington Spa, Atomhawk partners with developers worldwide across the full game development pipeline. The studio has contributed to titles including Halo Infinite, Mortal Kombat 11, Age of Empires IV, Helldivers 2, PUBG and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Red Kite Games
Founded in 2012 and based in Leeds, Red Kite Games supports AAA console and PC development across full development, co-development, porting and remasters. Red Kite has contributed to titles including Hogwarts Legacy, Fall Guys, the Mafia series, Control Ultimate Edition, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Two Point Hospital. The studio also supports performance optimisation and delivery risk management across platforms.

Midoki
Part of our Leamington team, Midoki specialises in mobile free-to-play (F2P) games. The studio is behind titles including Plunder Pirates and Knighthood, both supported through years of live operations. Midoki brings expertise in F2P and microtransaction models, including economy design, systems development and live-ops management.

Sumo India
Established in 2007, Sumo India operates from studios in Pune and Bangalore, supporting AAA game development and co-development. The team provides expertise across art, engineering, design, QA and production, supporting projects from concept through delivery. Sumo India has contributed to titles including Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Hogwarts Legacy, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Forza Horizon 4 & 5, Team Sonic Racing and Still Wakes the Deep. With experience in Unreal Engine, Unity and proprietary technologies, the studios support game-ready assets, gameplay systems, UI/UX and performance optimisation across console, PC and mobile platforms.

Sumo Central Europe
Based in Prague, this studio blends deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset to projects across Sumo. With a focus on high‑quality engineering and efficient problem‑solving, the team plays a key role in building robust systems and standout gameplay experiences for partners and players alike.
