Bringing home the TIGA Awards 2015

Sumo go big at the TIGA Awards 2015, bringing home 3 awards at the ceremony held at the LSO St Luke’s in London on November 12th.

The 2015 award season is quickly drawing to a close and already this year has been shaping up to be a fantastic one for the Sumo Digital team. With our BAFTA nomination earlier this year, followed by LittleBigPlanet 3 receiving the Family Game of the Year award at the 18th Annual D.I.C.E Awards, it’s truly been a great year!

What better way to top this years great achievements than a visit to last weeks TIGA Games Industry awards 2015?

Having been nominated for 5 awards including the Leadership and Best Independent Developer awards, we’re absolutely thrilled to announce that we walked away with 3 awards on the night. They were:

  • Best Social Game Award- LittleBigPlanet 3 (Courtesy of Sony Entertainment Europe)
  • UK Heritage Award – Sumo Digital
  • Outstanding Individual Award – Carl Cavers, CEO of Sumo Digital

As a studio, we’re incredibly humbled and proud to have even been placed in the shortlists for these awards, but to win them is something else. The UK Heritage Award was a brand new category to be included in this years ceremony, so to even be placed into consideration alongside the likes of Rare and The Chinese Room is something we never expected.

Of course, the award of the night goes to our CEO and Co-Founder, Carl Cavers who won the Outstanding Individual Award, a incredibly well deserved award that more than added to the success of the evening.
