The SumoJam is here!

Hold onto your hats and strap yourself in, as something huge is about to happen at Sumo Digital that has got us all worked up into a creative frenzy. Whatever could this be? Whatever could be happening? More importantly, why has all the coffee and paper gone missing?

The answer to those questions are at hand!

We’re thrilled to finally be able to announce that this week, Sumo will be hosting its first ever (yes, we really mean ever!) internal GameJam.

What’s a GameJam?” we hear you ask? A quick trundle over to Google and voila:
A game jam is a gathering of game developers for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating one or more games within a short span of time.’
Thanks, Google.

The team here at Sumo HQ will be pitting their creativity against one another for the chance to have their final prototypes expanded upon and developed into a fully-fledged, published game. There’s certainly a lot to play for!

The judging panel will be comprised of members from the various teams, as well as Sumo’s recently announced non-exec chairman, Ian Livingstone, a fellow we’re sure you will all agree knows a thing or two about what makes a great game!

This event has been long in the making and incredibly overdue, with that said, we’re truly looking forward to seeing what the whole studio can bring to the table!

Let the SumoJam, commence!
