Announcing Crackdown 3

During Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference, you may have noticed a familiar name at the end of one of the trailers. We’re thrilled to finally announce our involvement in the development of the third installment of the critically acclaimed Crackdown franchise, Crackdown 3.

Agent, the city needs you! Your objective: Justice by any means necessary.

To ourselves here at Sumo, Crackdown is one of the game that defined the sandbox genre on the last generation of consoles. Praised for its unique visuals art style, riveting gameplay and grand depth of exploration, Crackdown truly set itself apart from the competition, covering ground very few games had ever covered before. Now, that experience is coming exclusively to Xbox One and we cannot wait to show you more of what’s in store for players in Crackdown 3.

Working in conjunction with our partners at Microsoft Studios, Reagent Games and Cloudgine, we have one mission: To bring the fans the biggest and best Crackdown experience to date, a sequel truly of the ‘next generation’.

So what can players expect in Crackdown 3?

Enter Crackdown 3’s sandbox of mayhem and destruction and become a Super-Powered Agent dedicated to Justice by any means necessary.  Explore the heights of a dangerous futuristic city, cut through gang-infested streets in a transforming vehicle, and wield amazing abilities to dismantle a ruthless criminal empire.  Developed by original creator Dave Jones, Crackdown 3 will deliver cooperative chaos and an all-new multiplayer mode where destruction is your ultimate weapon against friends and rivals online.  Whether you’re playing the all-new Campaign or enjoying a truly revolutionary competitive experience, you’ll never look at open-world gaming the same way again.”

We look forward to sharing more details in the weeks and months to come. For now, there is only one last thing for us to say;

From everyone here at Sumo Digital. Welcome back, Agent.
